About this training

GitHub Foundations is Microsoft's entry-level certification validating foundational knowledge of collaborating, contributing, and working on GitHub, covering core Git concepts, repositories, project management features, and modern development workflows on the platform. It's designed for both developers and non-developers who work with GitHub day to day.

The proctored exam runs 100 minutes and, following Microsoft's policy for fundamentals-level exams, does not require renewal once earned. It's aimed at roles including administrators, app makers, developers, DevOps engineers, and solution architects, and is supported by an official training course and practice assessments.
